The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in Delhi brought together over 1,000 companies and international delegations, showcasing India’s rapidly expanding auto component industry. The event highlighted advancements in manufacturing, the transition to electric vehicles (EVs), and cutting-edge technological innovations. With a strong emphasis on research & development (R&D), digital transformation, and sustainability, India is positioning itself as a global leader, aiming to boost auto component exports to $100 billion over the next decade.
The third-largest expo of its kind, held at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre from January 17-22, was organized by the Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with EEPC India. Spanning five halls across 70,000 square meters, the event featured country-specific pavilions and delegations from over 40 nations, making it a truly international platform for industry collaboration.
Indian auto component manufacturers have steadily expanded their global footprint, capitalizing on cost efficiencies and precision engineering expertise. The government works with the mobility sector to foster innovation and drive technological advancements. 
Government’s Vision for the Industry
Speaking at the event, Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal emphasized the industry’s potential:
“I have urged the auto component industry to target an increase in exports from $20 billion to $100 billion over the next decade. Achieving this goal will strengthen India’s self-reliance (Atmanirbharta) and enhance the role of domestic manufacturers in the global supply chain. This is India’s moment, and it is up to the industry to seize the opportunity.”
Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Jitin Prasada, highlighted the rapid evolution of the sector:
“The auto component industry is witnessing unprecedented growth, with the shift to EVs marking a transformational phase. Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) are driving quality, precision, and innovation improvements. To sustain this momentum, the industry must move from traditional supply chains to advanced electro-mechanical models.”
India’s Ambitious Growth Plan
With the government’s focused policies boosting domestic manufacturing, India’s auto component industry is setting ambitious goals. In FY24 alone, exports reached $21 billion, reflecting the sector’s growing aspirations. The industry, which generated $74 billion in revenues in FY24, is committed to becoming a global technology hub by investing in R&D, skill development, digitalization, and cost-effective automation. The EV market is expected to be crucial in driving future growth. Policymakers are advocating for a five-year action plan to facilitate the transition from internal combustion engines (ICE) to EVs. Additionally, sustainability remains a core priority, with industry bodies such as ACMA leading initiatives to help member companies achieve carbon neutrality and meet international environmental standards.
